Since our birth, Ariva has filed almost 36,000 free tax returns, returning more than $56,000,000 in total refunds to struggling neighborhoods such as the South Bronx. In 2011 alone, Ariva filed approximately 10 percent of all Volunteer Income Tax Assistance site returns in New York City.
This helps low-wealth New Yorkers save their hard-earned money instead of throwing it away on commercial tax preparation fees and predatory tax products.
